Meeting with the National Office of Forests: presentation of the French forest, its functioning and its users
We met Elodie Prat technical agent at the national Office of Forests who came to present the French forest (31% of the area of the territory).

What are the functions of the forest?
Environmental function: biodiversity reservoir, preserves water and air, carbon storage
Wood production: construction, furniture, cardboard, energy wood
Reception of the public: sports leisure practices, walking, gatherer, hunting, ...
Protection against natural risks: fight against avalanches and falls from boulders, fight against soil erosion and landslides, fixing dunes to maintain the coastline
